Consider a bed and breakfast for your next vacation

The first time I stayed at a bed and breakfast, was when my wife and I went on our first anniversary weekend getaway. We knew that we wanted to leave, just were not sure where and what they wanted to do.

Her colleague showed her a book on a bed and breakfast & # 39; around the United States. She brought me the book home to take a look to see what I thought about going to one of them on our anniversary. With zero experience (at that time) and zero knowledge bed and breakfast & # 39; I was a little skeptical. Do I really want to spend your weekend by staying in someone's house?

The more I read about the way of life and breakfast, the more intrigued me, until May wife is not caught, and we booked a bed and breakfast in northern Vermont. Honestly, it was a great time. The owners of the bed and breakfast treated us like royalty, waited on us like we were the king and queen, and the food (which is included in our buying price) was just incredible.

Since then, my wife and I have been to the other two breakfasts, one in Williamsburg, Washington and the second in the northern state of New York, close to Seneca Lake. While the concept of each bed a breakfast was like, they differed in various ways. For example, in Vermont for breakfast and dinner (both included) we were sitting at their own table at a nearby restaurant. In NY and VA we & # 39; ate a large table with all the other guests. In VA the owners take care of everything, well, they and their children. In the state of New York, and CNTs owners have placed a place, but also assisted in the preparation and maintenance of cleanliness of rooms. The VT we had its own external entrance to our room, as if the room was our own home. In the state of New York and Washington, you have your own bedroom in a house with other guests.

No matter what style you choose, if you've never stayed at a bed and breakfast. Each of them was beautiful and you really feel that you and & # 39; a part of the family & # 39; and the owner, as long as you stayed there.

I would recommend first choose a place where you know you really want to stay. Do you like mountains? How about the sun or a tropical island? Once you realize that actually want to do is look at the bed and breakfast in the places to which you are targeting, and start reading them. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other bookstores have many books that you can look, without purchasing information. You can also go to your local library or look online directory of bed and breakfast.

Once you get the location and narrowed it to one or two possible bed and breakfast options, start to consider them and see if they are in your budget. I will tell you that they are a little more expensive than a hotel room (some of them anyway). However, check what benefits you get for the price. Most come with breakfast, otherwise it would just be called Bed & get out of my house in the morning. You understand. Some also offer dinner and serves lunch and snacks. Find out what you get for your money. It will definitely help with your decision.
